Marcia Banasik cut her teeth in the music industry in Texas, beginning in high school with late nights watching MTV's 120 Minutes and skipping lunch during the week so she'd have money to buy records on the weekend. At 18, she scored her first record store job and by 21, she was a store manager. Realizing the importance of an education however, she parted ways with her passion to pursue an English degree at the University of North Texas, known for its outstanding jazz program and solid music scene. It was this very scene that introduced her to a slew of great bands and the person who would soon get her a job managing a record store once again. For round two, she took on buying responsibilities as well and began learning the ins and outs of music distribution. This quickly paved the way for a management opportunity with an independent music distributor as well as a part-time marketing job with Sony Label Group, who in 2006 promoted her to a full-time position in New York. Before coming to Nashville, Marcia was employed as a product manager for Warner/Independent Label Group where she was responsible for new release planning, coordinating production for physical product and delivery of digital assets for online distribution. Marcia's experience spans the CD boom of the nineties to the modern world of digital downloading, giving her unique insight into which direction to take any of the projects she's working.
